Death penalty advocates always highlight their tendencies towards retribution and the motivations are understandable in the face of despicable crimes. However, the justice system is not without errors-or political motives-in it's pursuit of justice.
People can and will be wrongfully convicted. That simple truth should sway tempers towards the rational position: A Life sentence rather than Death avoids the minor inconvenience of possibly executing an innocent person.
